A couple of local shows this weekend firstly at Newark under Veronica Stockdale

Newlaithe on Design JW went on to win Best of Breed
Second show in Derby under Jill Downing
Again an overall good entry with Newlaithe Bug On JW winning Junior and Newlaithe On Design JW winning Post Graduate
This time Newlaithe Bug On JW went on to win Reserve Best of Breed
Christine also showed Mademoiselle Mia avec Newlaithe (French Bulldog) at this show
Mia won Puppy, Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Breed
In the main Group Mia took Utility Group 2 and was the overall Utility Puppy Group Winner

15th November - The South Western Boxer Club CH Show
A long journey through epic wind and rain to Weston Super Mare
A very yellow day for us with Newlaithe Bug On JW third in Novice, Newlaithe Leonardo JW third in Graduate
CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW third in Open and Pure Target JW third in Limit
Our Dog Judge was Judy Alton and Bitch Judge Kevin Young
Also had the pleasure of handling Britesparke Luna Moonbug sired by CH Dooglebug to second in Yearling
The highlight of the day was Very Attracted to Newlaithe, owned and handled by John Cormack and Veronica Feaver
take his fifth Reserve CC (his third from Veteran!) along with his 2 CCs - we are so keeping our fingers crossed for his crowning CC!


Elsewhere at Hyde & District Canine Association Sarah had another good day with her boys

7th November - Working & Pastoral Scotland
The wonderful journey up to Edinburgh - not the greatest of thoughts leaving home at 4am!
Our Judge was Wendy Barrow who awarded Newlaithe Bug On JW third in Junior, Newlaithe Leonardo JW second in Post Graduate
CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW VHC in a strong Open class
Pure Target JW second in Limit and Magic Wand a credible reserve in Open (continuing to beat Champions)
I also had the pleasure of handling the Mair's Vandenrob Nina Roche at Glenauld, a lovely CH Dooglebug daughter, who won Minor Puppy
Nina was then beaten by her kennel mate Glenauld Tasmin (another CH Dooglebug daughter) who won Best Puppy in Breed and her third Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate

October 2015

31st October - Eukanuba Puppy of the Year Competition
Judge - Jean Lanning
Just to qualify for this event is an achievement and a half!
Newlaithe Bug On JW won his heat at Blackpool Championship Show earlier this year under
well-respected All-Rounder Andrew Brace
As written in the Dog World paper (joint sponsors with Eukanuba of the event) ....
Over the years many of Britain's most promising puppies have been entered in heats and the finalists have included some of the greatest show dogs of their time, including CRUFTS Best In Show winners and Top Dogs of the Year. All of them are a tribute to the skill and dedication of Britain's responsible Breeders who care about health, welfare and character of the breeds to which they have devoted so many years.
Twenty three Pup of the Year qualifying heats are held during the year. From each a leading judge sends forward one puppy to compete in the final. Invariable the competition is of the strongest, both numerically and in terms of quality, and some finalists already have CCs or are Champions
WOW - Newlaithe Bug On JW is one of the twenty-three puppies to attend this next weekend
To say we are proud to be there is an under-statement

What an event - such a spectacular day and evening put on by Eukanuba and Dog World
We were thrilled to be there and to be one of the 23 finalists from literally hundreds and hundreds of puppies throughout the year

17th October - London & Home Counties Boxer Club CH Show
An early start for today's show down at Woking
Our Dog Judge Denise Mastaglio awarded Newlaithe Bug On JW first in Junior and
CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW first in a superb Open Dog Class
Frank Kane judged the bitches with Pure Target third in a good Limit and Magic Wand a super third in Open (behind the CC & RCC winners)
In the Dog Challenge we were delighted when CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW took the Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate
The Referee had to be called in for Best In Show as the Judges could not agree - this went to the Dog therefore we challenged the CC winning bitch for Reserve
It was a unanimous decision between the two Judges that Dooglebug would be RESERVE BEST IN SHOW

Sarah took VHC in Graduate with Newlaithe The Fugitive, Sue a great reserve with Mona Mai in Post Graduate and third with So Attractive in Veteran
I also had the pleasure of handling two Dooglebug daughters Vandenrob Nina Roche at Glenauld and took third qualifying her for Crufts at just 6 months
and also Britesparke Luna Moonbug who took a great second in Yearling

So off we headed to Belfast for 2 shows - its a great weekend but a long and tiring one!

19th September - Darlington CH Show
My favourite All Breed CH Show of the year and today the sun shone bright which made it even better!
Our Judge today was Mr Simon Luxmore (the new KC Chairman)
Although not the biggest of entries we still have a superb day

Pure Target JW second in Limit and Magic Wand won Open
Julie with Newlaithe Trojan with Treju third in Post Graduate, Amanda with Newlaithe Fire Bug won Junior and with On Fire second in Post Graduate
In the Challenge we were delighted that CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW won Best Dog and Magic Wand Best Bitch
In the head to head Challenge CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW took BEST OF BREED
We also took Newlaithe Leonardo JW into the Post Graduate Dog Stakes under Brenda Banbury and won, with Newlaithe Trojan with Treju third in the same class
and Pure Target JW reserve in a good Good Citizens class under Christina Chapman
Amanda with Newlaithe Fire Bug made the cut in a huge Junior Stakes class under Christina Chapman
All in all an extremely good day

What a day Newlaithe does the Mini Double, following in the footsteps of CH Newlaithe On Target JW ShCM and CH Newlaithe Just Stunning ShCM
who achieved this at Birmingham City under David Spencer some years back

We haven't been able to attend for a few years so nice to be there this year

So we start the busy busy month, firstly down to Stoneleigh where the Dog Judge was John Cormack and Bitch Judge Jean Lanning

26th July - Leeds CH Show
Very local today at Harewood House
Our Breed Judge was Steve McArdle, sadly we didn't have a good day in the Breed at all!
Newlaithe Leonardo JW third in Graduate and Magic Wand VHC in Open
However we had a super day in the Stakes classes which more than made up for things!
Pure Target JW won the Good Citizens Class (40 Entries) with £50.00 Prize Money judged by Meg Purnell-Carpenter and
Newlaithe Bug On JW won another Puppy Stakes (Leeds City - 20 entries) judged by Derek Smith and also £20.00

This was Bugsy's last Limit class and delighted he made the final 4 for the CC

We were entered in the Puppy Stakes today (and in typical fashion would have made the class quite easily) however following Mr Jones' (Newlaithe Bug On) spectacular win overall last week he is now unable to compete being one of the finalists for the event

We finished the breed in good time allowing us to make the Puppy Stakes (a rarerity!)
Today's Judge Mr Andrew Brace, thrilled that Newlaithe Bug On won the Puppy Dog Stakes, over the moon he then challenged the Puppy Bitch winner and won making him the overall winner for Day 3 (Working & Pastoral), then he challenged the Day 1 and Day 2 overall winners and WON
Newlaithe Bug On - Eukanuba / Dog World Puppy Stakes Overall Winner Blackpool CH Show 2015
This has qualified Newlaithe Bug On for the Eukanuba / Dog World National Puppy of the Year Competition later on in the year - THRILLED!
Absolutely no idea how many puppies were entered over the 3 days but would be well over 150!
To top the entire day off Newlaithe Bug On then represented the Breed in the Puppy Group and took WORKING PUPPY GROUP 3 under Gary Grey
What a day - and to just add the cherry today's win has given Newlaithe Bug On his points for his Junior Warrant at only 10 months of age!


21st June - Border Union CH Show
Another long trek to Kelso - got to love these early starts! Our Judge today Breed Specialist Philip Greenway (Rayfos)
Newlaithe Bug On reserve in Puppy, Newlaithe Leonardo JW VHC in a large Post Graduate class, Pure Target JW reserve in Limit and the star of the day
CH Newlaithe Dooglebug JW wins Limit (allowed to be in Limit because of the closing dates) and then went on to win his fourth Challenge Certificate
Border Union is one lucky show for him - he took his first their 12 months ago


To make our weekend even more special we heard news from Jo Malloy in Australia that Adele has taken her final points to her Australian Championship title and will now be know as Australian CH Nothin' Shakin' from Newlaithe

Another sunny day this time over in Manchester
The Special Puppy Event judged by Linda Lay where Newlaithe Bug On yet again won his age class
The Open Show was judged by Sian Bredif who awarded Newlaithe Bug On third in Puppy
Newlaithe Leonardo JW second in Post Graduate, Newlaithe Lucianna won Novice, Pure Target JW won Limit and Magic Wand won Open
Sarah with Newlaithe The Fugitive won Graduate and Newlaithe Fast'n Furious third in Limit

In the Challenge we were delighted when Pure Target won Best Bitch and Magic Wand Reserve Best Bitch

4th June - Three Counties CH Show
Down to Malvern today to what can only be described as a glorious, beautiful sunny day

We were thrilled when Newlaithe Bug On went on to win Best Puppy Dog (from his 6 Championship Show wins he has won Best Puppy Dog in 4 of them!)

27th May - Boston & District Canine Society
A local Open Show for us today down at Newark - this was an evening show which meant we didn't get home till almost midnight!
Our Breed Judge was Maggie Bryant - Newlaithe Bug On won puppy, Newlaithe Leonardo JW third in Yearling, Pure Target JW second in Open
and Magic Wand won Open
In the Challenge we were delighted to win Best Puppy in Breed
Sarah with Newlaithe The Fugitive reserve in Yearling and with Newlaithe Fast'n Furious third in Open
We then went into the Puppy Working Group under Maria Harding and were thrilled with

A lovely Open Show today for us in Derby
Our Special Puppy Judge Helen Griffin who awarded Newlaithe Bug On his age class followed by

16th & 17th May - The Scottish Boxer Club CH Show & SKC CH Show
On setting off at 5am on Saturday morning for our mammoth Scottish weekend little did we know that we would return home with
our ELEVENTH UK Champion
First to The Scottish Boxer Club CH Show where under the Dog Judge Anne Donnachie Newlaithe Bug On continued well winning Puppy
Newlaithe Leonardo JW third in Yearling and Newlaithe Dooglebug JW third in Mid-Limit
The following day our Judge was all-rounder Mr Peter Jolley
Newlaithe Bug On again won his Puppy class, Newlaithe Leonardo JW second in Yearling and Newlaithe Dooglebug JW won Limit
In the girls Pure Target second in Open (unfortunately the wrong class but had no choice under the rules to go in Open) and Magic Wand
(again in Open) VHC
In the Challenge we were thrilled that Newlaithe Dooglebug JW took his third and crowning Challenge Certificate and Newlaithe Bug On Best Puppy Dog
To make the day even more spectacular in the final challenge we took Best of Breed AND Best Puppy in Breed
So subject to KC confirmation Bugsy will now be known as
CHAMPION NEWLAITHE DOOGLEBUG JW
Thrilled is an understatement
Sarah also did well at the Club Show with Newlaithe The Fugitive second in Graduate and Newlaithe Fast'n Furious reserve in Post Graduate

7th May - Birmingham National CH Show

Newlaithe Dooglebug JW VHC in Limit, Pure Target JW VHC in Limit and Magic Wand third in Open

However the star of the day Pure Target JW winning the Good Citizen Stakes from an entry of 32 under David Killilea and pocketing £50 prize money!

An almost local Club Show in Durham today
Our Judges were Ian Basnett (Dogs) and Meg Purnell-Carpenter (Bitches)
We had a rather blue and yellow day today!
Newlaithe Bug On third in his first Puppy class, Newlaithe Leonardo JW third in Yearling and Newlaithe Dooglebug JW second
in a super Limit class, only beaten by the CC & BIS winner
Pure Target a great second in Limit (behind the Reserve CC winner) and Magic Wand a fantastic third in Open

WELKS
A bad month for not showing (!!!)
Our Judge for Welks was Jo Cairns, who I work for at some of the larger All-Breed Shows
We therefore made the decision yet again to not enter any of our own dogs
Instead I stewarded for Jo - a little different to normal

Sarah had also entered Newlaithe Fast'n Furious in the Good Citizen Stakes class (not the Breed today) and from 23 entries took a super third
Julie with Newlaithe Trojan at Treju also entered in the Special Beginners Stakes and took third from 25 entries

In the girls under Nikki Cannon Karen with Per Una took a great second in Debutante
In the Dog Challenge Newlaithe Bug On won Best Puppy Dog followed by Reserve Best Puppy in Show

12th April - The Northern Boxer Club CH Show
Our own show where we took the decision to spend time with the Judges (from Australia) before the show and therefore
didn't enter any of our own Dogs
Sylvia F Crooks (Dogs) and Margaret Joyce (Bitches)
Although a little strange to be ring-side the show was a great success for all concerned
We had a huge entry of 261 Dogs with only a few absentees - all the classes were big entries!
Other people with Newlaithe dogs had a good day with
Amanda and On Fire and her daughter Newlaithe Fire Bug both making the cut in their classes
Julie with Newlaithe Trojan for Treju made the cut in a Post Graduate class
Karen with Per Una reserve in Debutante, Paul with Hot Shot and Pure Look Again both thirds in their respective classes
Sue with Mona Mai and Luna Moonbug both seconds and So Attractive reserve in a huge Veteran class
